I Asked 5 AI to Predict 2025 — Here’s What They Said & Why They Said It

I Asked 5 AI to Predict 2025 — Here’s What They Said & Why They Said It

I Did NOT Expect These Responses

With the end of 2024 quickly approaching, none of us can predict with certainty what the next year may bring for us. Tons of unanswered questions arise in my mind each time I think of the new year — 2025: Will this year usher in fortune and remarkable achievements to humans?… or will this present challenges to us?Or perhaps even a mix of both? To provide a rough answer to these questions, I decided to ask 10 of the most advanced and popular AI models to predict 2025 with the same question — “Could you provide your most accurate predictions for 2025?” Here’s exactly what they said and why they said it:

1. ChatGPT

ChatGPT — what some would call the ‘King of AI’ — had a pretty interesting response: It clearly stated that the year 2025 is going to be transformative, with developments across the board in technology, science, society, and politics as well.

On the tech side, it stated that in all likelihood, the evolution of AI will continue rapidly and eventually find it’s place in our daily lives. Aside from this, it mentioned possible breakthroughs in quantum computing and AI-driven healthcare applications in the upcoming year, coupled with new milestones reached in space exploration through projects like NASA’s Artemis, will expand humanity’s horizons on the moon as well.

In the field of science, it predicted that climate science and efforts at sustainability will continue to be on the leading edge with more collaboration from the UN. Aside from this, it predicted that mRNA technologies and vaccines, which use synthetic genetic material to instruct cells to produce specific proteins, then enabling targeted treatments like vaccines and potential therapies for a variety of diseases, may be further developed for potential treatments for cancer and other previously untreatable diseases.

ChatGPT predicted 2025 will be marked by major political and economic changes on the world stage as well. It primarily stated that the result of the US elections in 2024 (an extremely controversial topic) will have deep consequences for the world in terms of relations, technology, and environmental policy — both for the better and for the worse. Most likely, China will continue to expand its influence with innovation in green technologies and AI.

It made a strong point that more attention will be paid to mental health, personalized education driven by AI, and the fusion of remote and in-person models of work, as hybrid work becomes the new norm. Meanwhile, digital art and the empowerment of AI-assisted creativity will develop further in the next year.

But ChatGPT clearly mentioned that challenges will also arise. Issues of ethical AI, growing calls for regulation, and climate change will all demand cooperative solutions from the world.

But before ChatGPT provided me with any of these predictions, it mentioned clearly that predicting the future is always speculative and many of these predictions may not be accurate but are instead simply based off trends in 2024.

ChatGPT made these predictions based on data from some of the most trends that were ongoing in the current technology, science, and politics in 2024 that is in it’s dataset. For example, rapid development in AI and quantum computing, along with an increased emphasis on climate change and space exploration, have been some of the major areas of development. The rise of AI in education and healthcare, plus increased utilization of mRNA technology, are examples of continuous research and innovation that is likely to shape the future. Of equal importance are global political dynamics between the U.S. and China, societal shifts for mental health, and hybrid work models-all seeming to continue shaping 2025.

However, this data is still sort of vague. Compared to the rest of the AI models’ responses on this list, ChatGPT is probably one of the least specific. It gave a general overview of likely trends from the future — based solely on data from this year. It didn’t really elaborate on each one of it’s predictions.

2. Google Gemini

Google Gemini is a relitavely new AI model that might just be the next ChatGPT. It has gained traction recently for providing accurate responses and is thus sort of competition for ChatGPT.

Google Gemini had a similar response to ChatGPT. The model also gave a sort of initial ‘disclaimer’ that predicting the future with absolute certainty is virtually impossible and it’s predictions might not be entirely accurate or even accurate at all. It clearly stated that it’s predictions are based on the current trends from this year.

Like ChatGPT, Gemini also primarily focused on technology and society. However, it also mentioned geopolitics and economics as well.

Here’s a summary of what it predicted for the new year in tech. In 2025, it stated technological development will be accelerated, mainly relating to AI. AI might start entering everyday life in medical care (which was also mentioned by ChatGPT), learning processes, and even entertainment. Such unprecedented growth would focus more attention on ethics and regulations that surround AI. Most likely, technologies such as edge computing and quantum computing will have some breakthroughs. This can provide very much increased speeds, and things could change with respect to medical research or cryptography. Further, virtual and augmented reality are very likely to push the limit of the Metaverse with a lot of immersion in digital reality.

It also mentioned that societal trends will be all about remote work and flexible arrangements as companies adapt to the changing landscape of workforce preferences (also mentioned by ChatGPT). Sustainability will continue to gain momentum through the increasing usage of renewable energy, electric vehicles, and other eco-friendly practices due to growing climate concerns. Cybersecurity will be even more critical as technological reliance grows, demanding advanced measures to counter rising cyber threats.

Beyond technology and society, Gemini also predicted that global dynamics could face economic changes, geopolitical evolutions, and scientific discoveries. Shifts in trade, international relations, and innovation might reshape industries and challenge the paradigm status quo. While 2025 remains uncertain, knowledge of such trends will, in a way, serve to give us a sneak peek at what is to come.

Google Gemini’s predictions probably emanate from the analysis of ongoing technological and social trends based on huge datasets of research, industry reports, and news. It’s focused on virtual and augmented reality, and investments in the Metaverse are growing, further enabled by improvements in AR/VR hardware and increased internet speeds. Edge computing and quantum computing also feature because of their potential to revolutionize industries such as medical research and cryptography, reflecting ongoing breakthroughs in these areas.

Other predictions Gemini made about remote work, sustainability, and cybersecurity came from an analysis of changes in the global landscape. The growth of flexible work arrangements and the emphasis on renewable energy are indicative of the trend changes in workforce preference and climate concerns, respectively. While dependency on technology continues to increase, so does cybersecurity, which requires increasingly sophisticated measures against evolving threats.

These predictions are informed by the model’s ability to detect patterns in how industries and societies are adapting to current challenges, suggesting the trajectory of these developments in 2025. Compared to ChatGPT, Gemini provided me with a wide range of answers and even elaborated on each of them a bit.

3. Perplexity AI

By far, Perplexity AI provided me with the most in-depth and possibly the most accurate predictions. This AI prioritized the quality in it’s responses and deeply elaborated on each one of it’s predictions.

It specifically predicted “stable yet underwhelming” economic growth in 2025 amidst continuous geopolitical turmoil created by the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. With cautious optimism, world GDP is expected to witness modest growth, projected at about 2.8% for 2025–26. It will continue into further rate adjustments by central banks, based on the dynamics of inflation-the European Central Bank could lower rates to 1.75% by the end of 2025, while core inflation is above 2.5%.

According to Perplexity, 2025 is the expected year of many breakthroughs for AI, where all important advances will move it from experimental phases into realistic and practical applications in every sphere of life. All these integrations are going to help increase collaboration and automating routine tasks at work. 2025 will be the Year of Quantum Science and Technology-meaning major breakthroughs. It also predicts that refresh cycles in PCs driven by demand for AI capabilities will drive growth in the tech sector, both in edge devices and AI software markets.

The AI also mentioned that a re-elected Donald Trump could dramatically change the political landscape of the U.S. and could result in strained international relations and domestic volatility. Meanwhile, the work-from-home vs. work-from-the-office battle will likely be heating up, with many employees favoring hybrid work models that may drive talent out of firms with strict office attendance policies. Unionism is also likely to face revitalization as workers push for improved rights and conditions within new workplace dynamics driven by advances in technology.

The AI model even mentioned possible Bitcoin prices for the new year, with major increases from this year’s $94,000 to a potential increase from $150,000 to $250,000!

Perplexity AI makes these predictions with great detail by using real-time access to an enormous database comprising academic research, news, and industry reports coupled with the most advanced NLP algorithms; hence, its ability to observe the ongoing trends, trace patterns, and project events in a very impressive development of context. It synthesizes the latest data and makes nuanced reasoning to provide insightfully evidenced predictions, therefore, its predictions about technology, geopolitics, and societal changes are highly reliable and instructive, far more than any other AI model on this list.

4. Meta AI

On this list, Meta AI is perhaps the latest AI model, only being released earlier this year…but is it the best at predicting?

Well, the AI predicted that in 2025, technology will further advance in aspects of great usage of augmented reality, gigantic steps in quantum computing, and expanding 5G and 6G networks. Besides this, renewable sources of energy, such as solar and wind, will be further developed, reducing our use of fossil fuels. Electric cars are going to be very common, and with that, there will be a further reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases.

In healthcare, the AI stated that personalized medicine would provide better and more focused therapies for different conditions in 2025. The use of AI will increase: diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients will be assisted by AI in general. Very important, cancer research will progress amazingly. Gig economy would further expand, mental health would come to a fore, and companies will move towards sustainability, social responsibility, and care for the environment.

Meta AI’s predictions were specific and ranged in tons of fields. It mentioned the economy, society, the tech world, and a couple of other promising areas to face development in 2025.

Higher-level AI technologies and serious research in the field of machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision are some of the things that drive these predictions for 2025 by Meta AI. The major strength on which the AI relies is the use of large-scale datasets with algorithms designed for the most accurate pattern and trend analyses in real-time. It empowers it to give detailed forecasts, accurate to a high extent, on matters ranging from the evolution of social technologies, advancement in ethics within AI, and going immersive into virtual and augmented reality experiences with the Metaverse.

Innovation and societal impact being strong at the heart, the predictions from Meta AI remain informed by its proficiency in pushing the boundaries of what is thought possible in AI research while considering the effective and ethical implications of arising technologies.

5. Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft Copilot predicted that by 2025, we could expect the most important breakthroughs in health care, technology, and adaptation to climate. Great breakthroughs expected in health included the immunotherapy of cancer and personalized strategies for treatments, especially in the case of breast cancer. And in technology, AI everywhere: driverless vehicles, high-speed internet across most regions. These new developments promise improvement in living standards and more growth opportunities.

Microsoft Copilot predicted that temperatures would rise globally in 2025, producing more frequent and severe weather conditions. Countries will move on climate adaptation strategies as means of protecting vulnerable communities. On the political front, you would probably notice the shift of right-wing ultra-populist leaders and policy shifts on climate, healthcare, and technology. We expect an increase in the economic indicator resulting from this exponential use of technology and new solutions for healthcare. The jobs’ nature will continue changing as the job market starts becoming more automated and fully integrated with AI.

Microsoft Copilot’s responses were accurate and covered a wide range of topics and fields, sort of like Meta AI. This is probably due to an informative dataset containing many accurate sources and information.

How I Would Rank These AIs

If I were given the chance to rank these AI’s responses and predictions on a scale of one to ten based on detail, predictive accuracy, and range of predictions, here’s how it would look like:

In 5th place would be Microsoft Copilot, with a rating of 3.9/10. The AI provided relitavely choppy predictions compared to the other AI models in here. Aside from this, it didn’t cover a lot of different fields in it’s predictions and limited itself solely to a select few areas. In 4th place is Google Gemini with a rating of 5/10. This model provided me with a wide range of fields and good predictions (better than Microsoft Copilot), but perhaps worse than the other AIs on this list, which is why I ranked it right in the middle of the scale. In 3rd place is ChatGPT with a rating of 5.8/10. The reason I gave ChatGPT this rating is because despite it’s limited elaboration on each of the predictions, it still managed to be the only AI on this list to mention possible challenges in the new year, every other AI model only mentioned positive developments in their predictions. For our runner-up, we have the new and popular Meta AI with a high rating of 6.7/10. Meta AI provided me with tons of predictions and was very specific in elaborating each one of them, which is why it was given such a high ranking. And lastly, in 1st place we have Perplexity AI with a stunningly high rating of 8.5/10. Perplexity AI provided me with the wideast range of predictions across tons of fields. Each prediction was elaborated to absolute perfection and it perhaps seems to be the most believable.

But please remember that different people can have different opinions and this ranking is solely based off my opinion. If you have other views about any of the AIs on this list, there’s absolutely no problem!

The Most Common Predictions (And Perhaps The Most Likely Ones)
